Is it better to let go than to hold on?
Is it better to give up on someone or give a second chance?
Is it better to wait or to move on?
Is it better to hide your memories some place
than dreaming endlessly perhaps?
Is it better to always be on your own than to be left alone?
Is it better to be happy with a few rain drops than to wish for heavy showers to fall?
It might really have been better to not have loved at all!

Not being in love would certainly make life simpler....but it makes you understand yourself better.
Another one of my theories is that love is anything that makes you feel good about yourself, we actually fall in love with ourselves when we connect with that special someone...so when it hurts, remember the time when you fell in love with yourself and how good it felt
